Mastercam Programming
This program is designed to provide beginning through advanced training in the Mastercam CAD/CAM system of CNC programming. Students learn 2D wire-frame construction, basic 2D programming, and the role of CAD/CAM system in manufacturing. They also learn to define tool paths, and to prepare and modify part programs. Students learn to develop models and study tooling usage for this type of machining. They also learn the basics of surface construction, including surface, model, and edge-curve creation, and surface shading and dialog. Upon graduation, students may find intermediate to advanced-level work in the machining trade as a CAD/CAM programmer.

Course Length
Classes are twice a week, 4 1/2 hours a day for 16 weeks totaling 144 hours, or once a week, 8 hours a day, for 18 weeks totaling 144 hours.

Prerequisites
Prospective students must have basic knowledge of shop mathematics and blueprint reading and be able to read and write in English.

Instructors
All instructors are credentialed or are working toward a credential in Adult Vocational Education. The instructors bring to the classroom and shop many years of practical experience in the machining, tooling and manufacturing industry. Their extensive capabilities and varied backgrounds assure students of receiving the highest caliber instruction possible from the most qualified instructors.
